Bissell sent me to this store for potential warranty work. I was very impressed with how knowledgeable and competent these men were! They had to do some extra work to ensure the repair was covered by Bissell, but they did it! I was very grateful and they were done in less than 5 business days (probably sooner, but I didn't get there)! Store is definitely full of supplies, hardware, and more vacuums than you could name, but hey, they're a vacuum repair store, not a corporate ran, show store! They did great work. I'd for sure go back!
I've had my vacuum repaired here twice (same vacuum, more than 5 years apart!). They are courteous, helpful, and very knowledgeable. After each repair, my machine has worked good as new! I'm very happy to have this service nearby.

Very helpful in explaining the options on Simplicity model, one of which we had for over 10 years, and its successor, Riccar. Went with a new model Riccar. Gentleman provided great basic advice on the model features to make my decision.

They had my Dyson from 1/11/23 to 3/9/23 and said that because Dyson closed their stores in the Kansas City area, they had to wait for parts. When I asked for my vacuum back, they gave me a different Dyson. I corrected them noting that there was someone else’s name on it, then they returned with a different one with a name scratched out and mine written on it (mine was purple, they gave me a white one), that was after they offered me another vacuum and then offered to take parts off someone else’s. Two months for them to take parts off my vacuum and give me someone else’s appliance.Good if you want to buy a vacuum (large selection), just beware.

I used to clean houses, (2) a day. I LOVE my Simplicity upright for carpet, and the canister for floors. VERY LIGHTWEIGHT, & EASY to use!!!I won't buy any other product
They had what I needed - bags for an older Kirby. The store itself is very full of supplies and vacuums. It's a good resource. Not sure on prices for used vacuums but they had plenty to choose from. If you wanted something for a tough job it seems like a good place to check.
This company had what I wanted a fan belt. But the old man that waited on me was hateful. Just because I made mistake about name of the vacuum and I had to ask for different belt . He said to me are you sure are you going to come again and again again too get it. I couldn't believe his mouth. But it might have been because I'm not white. There was no need for those words and hateful attitude. I won't be back there . But it doesn't surprise me .
Have been going here for 30+ years! Purchased vacuums and had repairs done. Very affordable and big range of vacuums. Great place to purchase your vacuum and great place for repairs to your old vacuum!
Can’t say enough good things about this place! my puppy chewed up my vacuum cleaner cord, so I brought it to American vacuum. They had it ready for me the next morning! I’ve had so many vacuum cleaners just randomly go out on me. I’ll be using this place again in the future instead of throwing out my machine!

I bought a simplicity vacuum here about three months ago. It is the best vacuum that I have ever owned. The service is also friendly and they always have what I want, i.e. attachments and vacuum bags.
I came in to replace a belt on an old vacuum on its last legs. They ended up finding me a new vacuum that was within my budget and leaps and bounds above the old one! Having kiddos I’ve had a few clogs, and they’ve taken almost no time to repair it and get it back to new. They know what they’re doing, and sell and maintain high quality products; highly recommend!!!

I was advised to buy one of their vacuums that they sold in their shop and I absolutely love it and so do my cleaning ladies! Also the repairs are done very quickly when they are needed and they are very friendly and informative!

I was pretty excited when I picked up my "old" vacuum cleaner. He put it on his suction machine for comparison, and it works like new! I am someone who loves to make the old- new again from mending to repairing tools. I love this place. you get to plays with the owner's 2 cats while you talk a little business about your vacuum. This business is locally family owned. They do a very good job.
I took in my Miele canister vac to see if they could fix it. It's an orange model geared towards pet owners. The vacuum had lost a considerable amount of its suction power probably due to the fact that I had forgotten to put a bag in it so the motor had been overworked. Anyways, about 2.5 weeks later I got a call to pick it up. I ran it long and hard all over my house vacuuming up cat fur when I got it back. The suction was pretty much back to its original power & the motor was no longer running hot. I'm not sure if they replaced the motor or just repaired the motor, but it seems to be running as good as new & the cost was incredible reasonable in my opinion especially compared to buying anything brand new. Buying anything brand new would have pushed my budget to the limit so I am. very grateful that they were able to repair the one I already had:)
Came in with w clogged Bissel vaccum. Had a warranty on it but I guess my warranty didn't cover unclogging it. They unclogged it free of charge! Super nice family
I’ve been here twice for my 17 yr old Dyson and they are amazing. Targeted and Fixed the problem quickly and efficiently with no bs or trying to sell you things you do not need. Their honesty and pricing is highly appreciated. 💯 recommend if you need repairs or shopping for a vacuum.
Thanks, to my phone call to Dave and his explanation of how the product works together when replacing parts to a central vac that is no longer made. I was able to get to proper parts and now I’m able to get my floors cleaned!

David is very knowledgeable about all types of vacuums. I bought a Sebo vacuum and absolutely love it. They are very helpful with any type of problem you might have with your vaccum. I highly recommend them.

We have purchased two vacuums from American vacuum company, we used to buy which we thought were the top of the line Dyson vacuums which didn’t work that well, so we went to American vacuum company and purchased a Kirby which was very efficient and it picked up so much more dog hair than our Dyson ever did. Then we upgraded to the Riccar supralite which was an amazing vacuum and it blew our Dyson away and we were amazed on how much it actually picked up. It was the best vacuum we’ve ever had. The sales team at American vacuum company were outstanding, friendly and knowledgeable and picked the perfect vacuum for us.
